What is Unifi

We build communities

Not an events company. A community that throws really good events. Come for the night. Stay for the people

Every community is built around something people love, and Unifi brings them all together. Formerly The Collective Unified. Born in Chicago, here to change the world. And here to play with you when you are bored

Events end. Community does not

Anyone can throw a party. The lights come on and everyone goes home. We build what is still there next week: the regulars, the inside jokes, the people who notice when you miss one

Our whole job

Get you off your phone and into the room

Bored

We have plans. Every week, all year. We are here to play with you when you are bored

Lonely

We have your people. Same interests, zero pressure, and a first hello that is already easy

Stuck in the same circle

We put different people in the same room, so your city gets bigger and your friend group does too

Because honestly, I’d like you more if I could see you

The name

Why we are called Unifi

Unifi comes from unify. People are splitting themselves off by block, background and bank account, all while looking for something in common. We give them that something. Every community is its own world, built around something people love. Unifi is what unifies them

One common goal: community. That is bigger than anything that splits us up

The problem nobody is fixing

We have never been more connected and never been more alone. About half of adults say they feel lonely, and in-person time with friends has dropped by roughly two thirds in two decades. Offices went remote. Third places closed. Friend groups scattered and never came back. The places that used to hold us together are gone, and people need community to replace them

That is a real health problem, with a toll compared to smoking up to a pack a day. It is a city problem, in cities all over the world. And it is a generational one. People are dividing themselves into smaller and smaller circles. Apps promised to connect us. They gave us followers, not friends. We are here to bring people back together

You do not fix dating with dating events

Nobody solves dating, friendship or loneliness by forcing it. You solve it by getting people in the same room, doing something they love, again and again. Friends, partners and whole communities start the same way: people showing up in the same place with no pressure

So we do not build awkward matchmaking. We build the room, and let connection happen

Our answer

We help people make real friends. Belonging comes from showing up, again and again, to something you love with people who love it too. So we build the reasons to show up. Here is how it works. Swipe through

Step 1

Find what you love

Running, fashion, food, founders, games. Pick the community that fits you and you already have something in common with the room

Step 2

Show up once

Find an event, RSVP in a minute, walk in. Every event is made for first timers

Step 3

Come alone or bring a group

Both work. Come solo and meet people, or bring your friends and meet theirs. Nobody needs a plus one

Step 4

Come back

Once is fun. Twice is a habit. Familiar faces turn into friends, and friends turn into your people

Step 5

There is always something to do

Weekly events, parties and socials all year, across every community. Never wonder what to do this weekend again

Step 6

Meet your people

Cross over into other communities and your circle grows across the whole city

Events for every size of night

We build community and experiences at every scale, and we are working our way up to festivals

Intimate

Small gatherings where everyone meets everyone. Run clubs, yoga, tastings, founder meetups

Medium

Watch parties, showcases, launch parties and live sets with real energy in the room

Large scale

Flagship nights and day parties that bring multiple communities together in big venues

Festivals

Where we are headed. Multi-community days built around culture, music and connection

Built by community builders

The new influencers are community builders. Our whole team is made of community leaders, and no one owns a single community. We plan together, host together and promote every event together, so you will see all of our faces at all of our events

We keep it real. Authentic people, honest events, no fake hype. We are here for the positive, and for the people who show up

Questions

What does Unifi mean

It comes from unify. To bring people together around one common goal: community

Why do the communities end in Co

Co is short for community. Each community is built around one interest, like Hustle Co for running or Food Co for tastings, with its own events and its own regulars. Unifi brings them all together

What is the difference between Unifi and the other communities

Each community throws events for one interest, like a run club or a fashion showcase. Unifi is the main community. It throws the holidays, parties and big nights that bring every community together. See Unifi parties

Do I have to know anyone

No. Come alone or bring a group. Most people come alone the first time. That is the point

Who runs the events

We do, all of it. Unifi is an in-house community company with its own events, marketing and partnerships teams. A lot of events today are thrown together without real event people behind them. Keeping everything in-house lets us protect the taste, the quality and the feel of every night, because building community only works if the experience is worth coming back to

Can I host my own event

Every Unifi event is built and run by our team, so we do not hand events off. But we want your ideas. Send us what you would love to see, and the best ones end up on the calendar. Submit an event idea

What does it cost

Most events are free. Some are paid, and those are ticketed through Posh or SweatPals with the price on every event page

Is Unifi only in Chicago

For now. Chicago is home base. Milwaukee, Austin and New York are next, then the rest of the world. We are not here to take over the world. We are here to build community for it

Are tickets refundable

Not always. Read the event guidelines before you RSVP. Tickets and waivers
